Lesson 4b: Coram and Pro


"Coram" and "Pro" are governed by the ABLATIVE case only

CORAM
MEANING: in the presence of
Example:
coram Deo = in the presence of God
____________________________________

PRO
FIRST MEANING: in front of
SECOND MEANING: in behalf of, for
THIRD MEANING: instead of, on behalf of
 
pro regina = in front of the queen ( you may substitute the other meaning depending on the context)
