Directions:

a. Write the translations (Latin or English, as the case may be) in your Notebook to be passed on Wednesday, September 3, 2014.

b. Minus two for every wrong verb per number; minus one for other wrong words or formulation.

c. Review Unit 16 for guidance.

d. All vocabulary words are found in the textbook.

Direction:

1.     Using your small notebook, write your name first. Then, the date when you finished answering the exercises.

2.     Write “Latin Exercise no. 1” 

3.     Translate from English to Latin.

4.     This shall be passed on our next meeting.

5.     Failure to follow directions will have minus one.

6.     Review your basic Latin.

7.     The vocabulary words are not provided but can be found in the textbook.

8.     If you perfect this exercise, you will have a bonus of two points in the next quiz.

Note: This exercise is equivalent to a quiz.

TRANSLATE FROM ENGLISH TO LATIN USING YOUR NOTEBOOK.

1.     Lord, say the word and I shall be healed. (10 points)

2.     The good popes, who had come to Jesus in the house of Peter, were being blessed. (10 points)

3.     Through the power of Jesus, we will be freed from the evil one.

4.     Paul and Peter are heard by the angels. (10 points)

5.     The girls were being praised by the queen. They have been praised also by the king. (10 points)

Latin Exercise

I have already checked and recorded your grades for the first quiz on declensions and prepositions. You need to STUDY HARDER because the next lessons would be harder. How can one understand the complex sentences if one cannot excel in the most basic declensions and prepositions? Remember that I have provided you with vocabulary words and the scope of the quiz, yet there are those whose grades are NOT satisfactory. Please STUDY HARDER.  

FOR JULY 25, students with a grade between 9 and 14 over 25 items will be STAYING to answer the same questions as an EXERCISE. It is OPEN NOTES!

Before our class period, go to the office and you will find three brown envelopes: one for those who attained a grade between 19-22; another for 15-18; and another for 9-14.

Pick one folder and browse your test paper. If it is not in that envelope, please look for it in the two other envelopes. 

READ the instructions outside the envelope.

SIGN your name for attendance and provide us with your e-mail. 

IF YOUR GRADE IS BETWEEN 9-14, you need to take the exercise again and submit to the office before 12 noon. If your grade is between 15-22, read the instructions and see you next meeting.
